My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Well and who would have thought that P.G. Wodehouse would be able to squeeze a 4-star from me? [at least i didn't]
I simply, simply loved this book. Its my first Wodehouse book that I was coerced into reading because of my A-Z challenge and I couldn't find a book that was available for free starting with letter D. And boy am I grateful to this challenge for crossing my reading path with P.G.
Its not like I didn't hear about him, I did. My sis-in-law is his biggest champion and fan and her bookshelf possibly has all his novels. And she had many times offered one to me, but I had politely refused because of this prejudiced preconceived notion in my head that it was some over-the-top comedy.
But Surprise. This one is a winner. The witty sentences and subtle sarcasm that flows in this book made me laugh out loud. I don't remember when it was last that I have laughed on reading a book.
A breezy read that you can finish easily in a day and end up feeling that your time was well spent. Perhaps P.G. Wodehouse may be on his way to become part of my favorite author's list as I begin the journey of devouring his other books greedily and with much expectation.
